I know, I know. With Bayonetta taking up 90% of our lives, what room is there for anything else?
Irl I'm a biologist/ecologist by trade. I like clothes, being outdoors, period dramas, concocting desserts, and making art!

I like video games and making video essays and I doodle (or used to) and am trying to get back into the art. I edit books as a freelancer, so that's gotten me into something of a reading habit after ages of not doing so. I also want to get back into/get better at painting, but that'll have to wait until I get a new apartment lol.
Also, I watch shows and Ghosts (2021) has to be the funniest (but also really well-written) one out there right now.

I'm a slut for Resident Evil and cannot wait for the remake of Resident Evil 4 later this month on the 24th, so I'm currently reading those old novelizations of the first four games lol. S.D. Perry does an excellent job of replicating the feeling of the characters/game vibes, but my god does she repeat a lot of the same characteristics and beats in how they process their thoughts. But it was the '90s, so what can ya do? How'd you get into biology?

When I get to those games I'll check them out! Fun to have a companion piece in a different medium. I credit my family for getting me outdoors when I was small and sparking an interest in nature that stayed with me through school and into adulthood! I'm drawn to restoration ecology in particular. It helps me feel better about the state of the world lol

And yeah, I enjoy novelizations of games because they have to articulate or encapsulate gameplay moments and player choice somehow into the narrative and streamline it. It's fascinating how they choose to do so. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Do you play any other game franchises besides Bayonetta? Devil May Cry or something entirely different?

That's a really good analysis! I've never considered that. I've gotten into Metal Gear Solid recently, kinda the total opposite of Bayonetta gameplay. Patience + efficiency > being flashy and looking cool. The cutscenes are remarkably similar in how much batshit insane stuff happens though LMAO I have the first couple DMC games on my pc but haven't gotten to them yet. My backlog of other games stares at me from the abyss...

I'll have to add it to my Backloggd, which I just started yesterday, so that should help me organize the backlog at least lol. Is Solid Snake as fine as people say? Super Smash Bros Ultimate may have nerfed his ass, but I hope it's as plump and smackable as it should be in the original.

MGS2 Snake is my personal favorite *chefs kiss* 😙👌🏻
